Youth injured while running across highway

Seventeen-year-old male suffers minor injuries after being struck by pickup.

On Saturday, July 25, at approximately 3 p.m.,  Sicamous RCMP received a report of a motor-vehicle incident on Highway 1 near the intersection of Rauma Avenue, involving a truck and a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, investigating officers confirmed a 17-year-old male was attempting to run across the highway, when he was struck by an eastbound pickup truck.

The youth was transported to Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm by BC Ambulance Service with minor injuries. No charges are being sought in this matter.
