It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Julie Hustwick. Julie passed away suddenly on November 29, 2023. Julie was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Bertram, brother William Pollington, sister Vera Pollington. She leaves behind three daughters Christine Hansen, Patricia Buchanan, and Barbara Hustwick along with sister in law Muriel Slopak, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Julie was a social person who had belonged to Lantzville Community Hall, a Newcomers group, line danced and carpet bowled. She belonged to the Bowen Park Lawn bowling club for 25 years where she had many good friends, events and travels to fully live her life because her husband died soon after they moved to Nanaimo. One of her lawn bowling friends, Elva, was lucky enough to be living at Woodgrove Manor with her these past few years, where she was loved and cared for by the very exceptional staff. Mom and Dad lived in several places – Calgary, Richmond, Trail, Port McNeil, as he was often transferred by Cominco-Teck she and the family adjusted each time.
She was a caring, strong woman who loved her family, friends. A private interment will take place and a Celebration of Life will be published in the New Year.
