I applaud the updating of the facilities for the 433 Squadron and a new home for their new helicopters.
They have done a fantastic job with those old Sea Kings and I am sure they will feel as if they are operating luxury Lincolns with the new Cyclone models on the way.
MacKay said that the squadron had a great supporter in Gary Lunn, which may well be true, but please don’t tell the people who live around Plumper Sound that, as he has done absolutely nothing for them concerning the holding and weather safe haven area there that has been turned into an unloading terminal and a service and repair depot 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 12 months a year.
Even as a minor cabinet member he should have the power to do something but he has chosen not to.
