Re: Giving a scare, Oct. 31.

For the last few years, a Halloween tradition has taken place in Ocean Park – namely the ‘Terror in the Terrace’ haunted house event.

It is the talked-about event in our neighbourhood each October, and this year our hosts, Dean and Ethan Donnelly, outdid themselves yet again.

Along with the usual favourites – including ghosts, zombies and the ever-popular man-eating Pumpkinzilla – this year’s event included local student actors, a corn maze and haunted cabin.

Not only was this a fun ‘fright night,’ but it held a special meaning to those of us who are touched daily by life with autism.

Our hosts reached out to the autism community and offered to do a fundraiser for children and families who receive education and help from the Applied Behavioural Analysis Support Network.

Eight hundred dollars was raised for this cause due to the efforts and compassion of all those involved, from the Donnelly family, the student actors/volunteers and those who came by to make a donation.

We are humbled by your kindness and concern and sincerely thank all those who reached out to the ABA/autism community.
