Many tacks have been used to inform North Cowichan council of the dangers of our local air pollution. As we know nothing has been working.
Have you thought of shaming the council by “airing” this topic publicly? Using not only CHEK News but the mainland Global news, not just once but a continuing report.
The council should be smart enough to realize the Vancoverites won’t want to retire and spend their money here with this pollution.
I took the dogs outside at 11 last night, expecting a lungful of fresh air, and nearly gagged on what smelled like fireworks. Crofton!
We are in Maple Bay. How can that pollution be that dense, over that distance?
Sometimes we come in, with clothes and hair smelling like bacon, from wood smoke.
We also have a wood burning fireplace — not used. We have a wonderful heat-pump.
Wood home heating is archaic and needs to stop. Council could use a carbon tax on these homes — they are missing out on a tax grab!
Thank you for listening to my short rant.
