On the recent long weekend, my wife and I attended Abbotsford’s Agrifair, to see our son in the Strathcona’s Mounted Troop.
It was a great show and I would like to recognize the contribution of a small group of women who volunteer to feed the soldiers, who ride and work with the troop.
Each day of the fair, these women make great breakfasts and suppers for the two dozen Strathconas, who are based in Edmonton, Alberta.
This type of hospitality, done on a volunteer basis, is a wonderful contribution that is greatly appreciated by those lucky enough to receive it.
They also invited two sets of proud parents to share supper with the troop on Saturday evening.
Abbotsford should be proud of these volunteers.
