No wonder Canadians have such a low opinion of politicians. The Speaker of the B.C. legislature, Liberal MLA Linda Reid, whose office is responsible for approving MLA expenses and building amenities, has frequently promised more transparency and accountability. Apparently she is too busy misspending our taxes to find the time to keep her promises.
Someone once said, “When we replace a sense of service and gratitude with a sense of entitlement and expectation, we quickly see the demise of our relationships, society and economy.”
