Agricultural water

Resident has some questions about consumption levels in Greater Vernon

One thing that I have not seen or heard discussed in the great water debate is how much of our water is used in agriculture and how much is used for private consumption.

And what does each respective group pay for that water?

This debate is quite prominent in California at this time of water shortages in that state.  It has been stated that agricultural use in California is about 80 per cent of all use and is virtually unfettered, the cost however, is born by private consumers mainly.

What is the situation here in Vernon?
