America’s ping-pong politics

Sir Isaac Newton’s third law of motion states for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Apparently American presidential politics are also influenced by the law of cause and effect. Bill Clinton, the infamously slick, scandal- plagued, saxophone blowing con man was replaced with George W. Bush, the straight-laced, bumbling, self-righteous world warrior; who was replaced with Barack Obama, the intellectually captivating, Afro-American spinner of unrealistic dreams; who was replaced with Donald Trump, the thin-skinned, manipulatively vengeful, ultra deceitful corporate-raider.

The whole world is holding its collective breath, watching ping-pong politics Trump-style.

The president and his likeminded rightwing henchmen are practising – and perfecting – their chop shots, drop shots, kill shots, backhands, topspin, sidespin and backspin. One other thing worth noting: when they play, the umpires and referees are ignored, harassed or threatened. It’s a new kind of game, one played without shame!
