An obvious benefit to the omnibus bill

The situation may not be as bad for Mr. Strobl as he thinks or has been led to believe by city council.

Re: The article “Resident caught in ditch dilemma,” Shuswap Market News March 9. The situation may not be as bad for Mr. Strobl as he thinks or has been led to believe by city council. Perhaps all he needs to do is get the text of the new environmental legislation passed in the much maligned “omnibus bill” passed by the Parliament of Canada. These are exactly the sort of issues that are addressed to resolve these ridiculous rules and regulations contained in the old legislation. As was pointed out by the government, municipalities and cities were delighted that these very issues could now be dealt with in a rational manner.

Not that we would know this from the reaction of the environmental gestapo, the First Nations, or the usual uninformed media. And this would include our own local Black Press paper.

So, Mr. Strobl, read up on the new regulations and then ask city maintenance to do the right thing for you.
