Apology for tone, not passion

I have an apology to make.

Last week I wrote a letter to the editor. It was blunt, and a bit reckless. And while I cannot apologize for the passion that pushed me to write it – because the passion remains the same – I must apologize for the harsh and hasty tone of it.

My frustration is not so much with the individuals I inadvertently singled out, but at a system that puts politics before people – a system that keeps people from using their heads and following their hearts. So, while some feel that I was justified in writing what I did, I hope that those who feel otherwise will be able to forgive me; to see past my reckless words, to the heart of the message.
