Are railroads too close?

Railroads were here before today's homes and businesses that surround them

Although, I did not replied to the question (Question of the Week, July 10)

My question to you, Who was there first? Houses and people or the railroad.

And since the railroad had been given, the right of wWay on either side, later sold, this land.

Now the municipalities gave permission to build! How close is close?

But building close to the railroad is not only here in Canada, it’s around the World.
