An open letter to:
Directors, Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine
Mayor and Council, City of Terrace
The Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce suggests that now is the time to have an open discussion about the future development of Terrace and Thornhill, as well as north, south and west Terrace areas.
Recent discussions around the removal of the ‘Welcome to Terrace’ sign have shown that many people, wherever they live, recognize they are part of the greater Terrace area.
We need to have an open and inclusive discussion on how we want to be perceived by the rest of the province, Canada, and global entities interested in our area.
Is this not a time to come together to establish ourselves as a progressive, dynamic, inclusive community that welcomes all?
The Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce feels it is a crucial time to elevate the discussion to how we can reimagine a relationship that would create a greater Terrace area that allows us to establish a place where people want to live and that businesses want to invest in.
Val Gauvin, President,
Terrace & District Chamber of Commerce
