Dear editor,
Whoever urged a higher speed limit on our roads recently has to have a screw loose.
Roads in B.C., particularly on Vancouver Island, are in no condition to handle higher speeds than those now posted.
Most people do not know how to drive at those higher speeds. Reaction time is drastically shortened the faster one drives.
Many people are driving exclusively in the passing lane at speeds far exceeding the posted limits.
It gives them a sense of power and superiority. It’s an ego thing!
B. Saunders,
Courtenay
