Back the track

Resident believes sports facility will benefit future generations

I am writing to you in regards to the community sports field and athletics facility.

I’m not good at sports. Heck, I probably will never use the facility, but you better believe my kids will. I just don’t get how the community supported the Polson Park development plan but they are not willing to see it through. In order to get Polson Park upgraded with fields for picnics, Vernon has to get a new track plain and simple.

There are hundreds of reasons why this is beneficial for Vernon, and other than it costing a tiny amount to homeowners, most about $15 a year, what is a major con?

Why are all of the older people unwilling to let Vernon change, let it grow, let this beautiful town have some potential?

So that more families will want to move here, so one day I won’t be the minority.

This is not just about the money.

This facility will bring Vernon closer together. So why vote against it?
