Barriere to host Block Party in June

This year's Big Barriere Block party is promising to be even bigger than last year's

Editor, The Times:

I was wondering if you would be interested in running a story on our event we are holding on June 10 in Barriere B.C. This is our second annual event and is a quickly becoming the most popular event of the summer for our region.

The organizers of the Big Barriere Block Party II are extremely excited about this year’s event. Thanks to the support of our amazing community and sponsors this year’s Big Barriere Block party is promising to be even bigger than last year’s.

North Thompson Volunteer and Information Center will be your hosts again this year. Our goal is to make this an event that everyone can enjoy regardless of your income so entry is by donation.

Be sure to bring your bathing suit and sunscreen as the grand opening of Barriere’s new Splash-pad will be happening at 3 p.m

Our outdoor marketplace is looking to almost double in size as we already have close to 70 booths signed up. A wide spectrum of vendors will be represented with everything from artisans and woodworkers to small businesses and non profits.

The Big Barriere Block Party II lineup is now finalized. Barriere’s own Rock/pop Duo Whiskey and Wine will set things off in style at 4 p.m. The talented Jeremy and Chloe will follow that up at 5 followed by the spectacular Bees and the Bare Bones at 6.

We are honored to have former Canadian idol winner and country star JayDee Bixby headlining our show this year. JayDee is including us in his cross-Canada classic country food bank tour and promises an entertaining energetic show.

If somehow your not all partied out after all of this, the official after party will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion starting at 10 p.m. It will feature the rock band Days Ahead and it is sure to be a rocking good time. There will be a $5 cover for the after party.

Come and see how Barriere parties on June 10, 3-9 p.m. at Fadear Park. Hope to see you there!
