Beefs and Bouquets: August

Readers give their thanks to residents of the Peninsula

Peninsula Celebrations Society would like to thank the many volunteers who came out and helped with the July 1 parade, Family Fun Fair and Build-a-Quick-Boat race.

The Town of Sidney staff again were out working to help in any way they could, their co-operation is fantastic. Our gratitude also goes to the police and firefighters who played in the new street hockey games and to the Peninsula Panthers players who attended.

The weather co-operated for us again this year and everyone seemed to have a good time, which makes all the organizing for any event enjoyable.

Also, many thanks to the people who sent me the beautiful bouquet of flowers, they were wonderful.

Sheilah Fea, Peninsula Celebrations Society

An expression of gratitude to a caring citizen, Mr. K. Thackeray, who stopped to assist us when our vehicle stalled on the Pat Bay Highway. After getting us going again, he accompanied us home to ensure we arrived safely. Good folks like this are a credit to our community.
