BOUQUET: A huge bouquet to the young man that plowed our driveway today after the snow. We live in Metchosin and have quite a long driveway and are elderly so imagine our surprise when someone we have never met shows up on his ATV and plows all the snow off. Thanks Travis, good things come to good people.
BOUQUET: A great big bouquet to our wonderful neighbours on Caton Place in View Royal. Before I had finished my morning coffee and ventured out on Saturday they had shovelled my long sloping driveway as well as others nearby. One couldn’t ask for better neighbours!
BOUQUET: We have just purchased two new phones, an iPhone and flip phone, and being seniors, were not sure how to connect them up to our car. We decided to go to our dealership (Glenoak Ford, Westshore) and ask for help. Within minutes, Jack shows up, gets into our car and no more than 10 minutes passes, and both phones are hooked up to our vehicle. We left very happy and impressed with the excellent service.
BEEF: A beef to a local big box store in Langford, the disinfectant spray you use on the carts, cannot be good for anyone’s lungs. The smell chokes me and I have uncontrollable coughing. The smell got better for awhile but as of yesterday, the choking smell was back. Unhappy.
BOUQUET: A big bouquet to Stephanie at Metchosin fire for always keeping our community up to date through her posts online. To the road crews clearing and salting roads over the last few days. I thought Metchosin had the best roads of all the municipalities. Great job, thanks for keeping our community safe!
BEEF: To the drivers on Sooke Road on Saturday that decided to drive with no snow tires. You created a complete mess because you decided to travel when unprepared. Thank goodness no one was hurt, but next time … Stay home!
BOUQUET: A big shout out to the kids in the West Shore. It was so great to see all the families outside sledding and enjoying the snow. With everything we are going through with the pandemic I believe these last two days of snow allowed families to get outside safely and enjoy themselves. These last two days were great for everyone’s mental health … if they chose to stay off the roads that is!
BOUQUET: To the City of Langford for the heart displays on Goldstream Avenue. I just love how our main street is always so vibrant. My family is definitely enjoying all the beautiful red hearts.
BOUQUET: Thank you to the drivers of VI Toyota 4×4 and VIHA staff transportation for reaching out to our essential health care workers and offering rides during our snowstorm. You deserve a standing ovation. It takes a community … and you are all a big part of it!
