BOUQUET Goes out to Santa Greg from the finest consignment store around, Funk Your Fashion. Thank you ever so much for your kindness and generosity.

BEEF To those car dealerships that send the worst environmentally friendly prize promotion with the plastic pulltab to Nanaimo households.

BOUQUET To God for giving us His son. I look forward to celebrating with Him. Happy birthday, Jesus.

BEEF To the stores that ask customers for donations for charity yet give nothing themselves.

BOUQUET To those who put money in the Christmas kettles. It makes sitting in the cold so worthwhile.

BEEF To the drivers who run the red light at Brechin and Estevan roads. Children from two elementary schools need to go home to their moms and dads at the end of the day. Please stop when the light is red.

BOUQUET To Nancy and Jim from Abba Carpets. Great service and beautiful job laying vinyl planking.

BEEF To the lady in the department store bathroom who tried touching my baby on his face and when asked not to called me a witch. Babies do not have strong immune systems and it is my right as his mother to ask strangers to not touch him.

BOUQUET To the Harewood neighbours for caring, concern and helping some of us to get through the difficult days. You carry on the history of this unique part of Nanaimo.

BEEF To the person who beefed about people sleeping on the bus stop benches. If the transit system was on time and efficient I wouldn’t fall asleep waiting for the bus.

BOUQUET To Seatops Mobile Marine for taking pride in your top-notch work. Comfy chairs. You’re tops in our book.

BEEF To the government. My elderly father, who is on a fixed income, was charged $104 for a pneumonia shot.

BOUQUET To Jim of Nu-Star heating who provided expert, cheerful service on my electric furnace. A professional job.

BOUQUET To the nice people at the Superstore deli department. You are the only one in Nanaimo cutting the salami really thin with a smile. And you are always polite.

BOUQUET To Carole and Ken for their work every Thursday for the dance group at Bowen Seniors. Also to your helpers Irene and Joe. You all make our evenings thoroughly enjoyable and we thank you.

BOUQUET Faith restored again in humanity seems a cliché sometimes, but thank you to strangers who stopped with blankets, called an ambulance, took my bike home for me, etc. People helping people these days – special or the norm?

BOUQUET To Nanaimo Nissan for all the assistance and personal attention they have provided. All wonderful friendly staff from sales, management, reception, service and car wash boys.

BOUQUET To the people on Jasmine Place who gathered up the newspapers that were blowing all over the street during the horrible storm last week. It was truly appreciated because when I tried to gather them up, more newspapers blew off the top of my cart creating more of a mess.

BOUQUET To those customers who understand why they might have to wait until Friday morning to receive their paper.

BOUQUET To Nanaimo ReStore, and its staff and volunteers for their knowledge and friendliness.

BOUQUET To Larry at Hit Fair Auto for all his good vehicle advice and keeping my car in good running order at a reasonable price.

BOUQUET To a very nice, kind bus driver Noel. He was going beyond his duties to help a bus passenger.

BOUQUET To beautiful people at the News Bulletin. Thank you very much.

BOUQUET To the efficient cashiers at Thrifty Foods at Port Place shopping centre.

BOUQUET To all nice, hard-working bus drivers. Thank you for driving safely.

BOUQUET To a lovely lady, Maria, and to others at Nanaimo Home Hardware.

BOUQUET To Andy for singing and playing for Christmas parties at Dufferin Place. We always enjoy your entertainment. Also, kudos to Marcus for all the dancing fun.

BOUQUET To the staff and volunteers at Dufferin Place for all the hard work they put into making our Christmas parties so wonderful. The food was great and it was lovely to have our families with us.

BOUQUET To everyone who so generously donated after a devastating fire destroyed my son’s home. Special thanks to Shear Creations and clients.

BOUQUET As grandparents of 10 it does our hearts good to see and hear the kids during the ‘yell off’ at the hockey games. Nice to see them out watching hockey.

BOUQUET To the group of carollers that came to our door on Parton Drive and brought such cheer with their singing and the sweet little angel with them.

BOUQUET To all drivers who use care and caution on Brechin hill intersection. The children at risk appreciate you. So do I, the crossing guard.

BOUQUET To Isaac for the coffee, and to citizens who have provided a hot drink on those cold mornings and afternoons.

BOUQUET To Happy Haulers Jim and Stan. There is almost nothing they won’t do to help you. Two great men with hearts of gold.

BOUQUET To Nanaimo citizens for their generous donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 256’s annual poppy campaign. Thanks to your generosity, we collected approximately $48,000 to help our veterans and seniors in need.

BOUQUET To housekeeping, transitions and psychiatry staff at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital from Lorna Crowder. All the best in 2016. It’s been great working with you all.

BOUQUET To Isabella Ostman for the work she does all year making crafts to sell for the Great Nanaimo Toy Drive. This year, she was able to donate $900 because of her efforts.
