A fragrant bouquet of pussy willows to the pickup truck driver who, on seeing a cat get run over on Nicol Street near the New Hope Centre, stopped in rush hour traffic to pick it up, thus preventing further carnage to it.

a bouquet for good deeds. When you hold a door open for someone you will be rewarded with a nice smile and/or a thank you.

A Love-you-Guys bouquet to Mambos Pizza – always fresh, never skimpy, friendly service and your delivery guy rocks.

A huge bouquet to Midas on the Island Highway. For years we have taken our cars to Midas and more than once they have said to us, “If you can leave your car with us, we will try to find a cheaper way to fix it.” Saving me money while ensuring our safety – they get my vote.

a bouquet. Canada is a well-respected country, so let all of our peoples get along together.

A giant pile of thank yous to Arrowsmith Search and Rescue and Island Timberlands employees Sam Stanko and Stan Lothrop. My husband and I got stuck on a drive along some logging roads. Search and rescue volunteers were amazing, comforting, well organized and reassuring. Island Timberlands employees helped us retrieve our truck the next day.

a large bouquet to The Sand Dollar Café for bringing delicious food to Departure Bay. Great service, too. We will be back for more.

A bouquet to Jack, our private chauffeur. Thanks for being there for us.

A bouquet to the thoughtful lady and her dog for bringing us chocolates at Christmas. A pleasant suprise that made our day.

A bouquet of gratefulness to Debbie for driving us to White Spot on a cold, wet December night.

A warm hug to Shelley Peck. She came to my aid after I suffered a concussion at a local recreation facility. When I was at my most vulnerable and confused, she introduced herself as my new friend and never left my side.

A huge bouquet to Holly and Carlene at the north end Serious Coffee. Makes my day brighter when you greet me by name and are always so cheerful.

A bouquet of beautiful snowdrops to Country Club Centre staff and merchants for their warm welcome. And tulips of thanks to all our wonderful customers who have come to visit us and continue supporting us during our move. From the girls at Bernard Callebaut Chocolates.

a HUGE bouquet of roses to Mark and Lise. Four of us girls were at Original Joes recently when the waitress told us we were the recipients of a gift certificate from this couple – strangers to us who wanted to do something nice for someone in the restaurant. We were already celebrating, having just bought my daughter’s wedding dress. This couple truly put the icing on the cake for us on our already perfect day.

A BIG, Smiling Bouquet to Wexford Creek employees, who take such good care of all the people who live there. Every time I come to see Tami, you are all always smiling and greet me with such kindness.

A happy bouquet to the person who found and mailed our lost keys. A call from the Save-On-Foods head office told us they had been found. We will pay it forward.

thank you to the city works department for their prompt attention in remedying the water seepage/icing problem on our street.

A huge bouquet of deer-resistant daffodils to Kevin and his friend who stopped on the highway after seeing us hit a deer. Thank you for the ride to the hospital. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

a Big shout out to Mark from Jim’s Mowing who did a fantastic job cleaning my gutters and taking away my yard waste. No more flash floods coming from my gutters.

A bouquet of thanks to Operation Red Nose. Thanks for getting my car and I home safe after all those drunken nights.

A huge bouquet to Denis Perreault, my wonderful brother-in-law, for all the beautiful carpentry and repair work on Opa’s place. We could not do this without you, you are appreciated.

A large bouquet to Woodgrove Centre, which opened in 1981, from the members of their walking club.

Honesty bouquet of the year to Barb, the most amazing customer, who was undercharged and came back into the store three days later to settle up the difference. I have been a cashier for 30 years and never seen anything quite like this woman’s honesty.

The most fragrant, humongous bouquet to the young lady at the Mid-Island Co-op station on Mary Ellen Drive for filling my tires with air. What great service she gave us.

A heartfelt thank you to Tyler Stitt of Winchelsea Veterinary Services for his kind, compassionate and gentle way with Leo in his time of need.

A bouquet of sunshine to the two snow angels who offered me hot tea and a push when my car was stuck in the snow on Uplands Drive. God Bless your beautiful, caring hearts. You sure touched mine.

A belated bouquet of thanks to the Nanaimo News Bulletin for showing the true meaning of Christmas on the Dec. 25 front page.

A grateful bouquet to my wonderful dentist and his assistant for doing a root canal, filling replacement and bridge repair in a short time with very little discomfort to me.

A pathetic beef to people who collect welfare yet have partners with good jobs living with them, thereby cheating the system. This makes me sick.

A huge beef to the driver of a red car turning onto Bowen Road recently who knocked my daughter off her feet. You rolled down your window and asked if she was hurt, but you should have gotten out of your car and exchanged numbers. Her right leg and foot were badly bruised, but she is mentally challenged and was not immediately aware that she was hurt.

A huge beef to parents who can’t get their children to school on time. You disrupt the rest of the kids when your child is late every day.

A huge beef to the city for not putting a left turn light to get onto Buttertubs Drive. You sit forever while every one races to merge.

a beef to the intoxicated men who can’t hold it. Women do. A slap in the face for those who use public transportation as a portable potty. Ridiculous.

a smelly school of rotting fish to a local fast food restaurant for haphazardly slapping a half slice of cheese off the side of my fish burger. Way to keep customers.

A stinky fish to Nanaimo school district for spending $24,000 on a logo when there are so many financial shortfalls in the system and so much talent within the schools to have provided a cost-effective alternative. Children are supposed to learn that appearances aren’t everything.
