BOUQUET To the lady who found my hearing aid device in the parking lot at Woodgrove Centre and turned it in.

BEEF To the lost and found at the hospital for its aggressively inconvenient hours of operation. I know you’re in the back room there playing with my stuff.

BOUQUET To the staff at Steve Marshall Ford, especially Trevor, Cathy and Shannon in the service department for your random act of kindness when I needed it the most.

BEEF To Christy Clark. Clearcutting old-growth forests is a crime against nature. LNG fracking poisons water, causes earthquakes, destroys the environment.

BOUQUET Rutherford Elementary School is No. 1. School activities and having fun. So sad to hear about the closure.

BEEF To the guest column encouraging residents to vote ‘yes’ to a proposed multiplex/events centre.

BOUQUET To Gateway to India for the birthday dinner. Lovely atmosphere, great service and superb food. We went again with friends for lunch a week later and were not disappointed.

BEEF To those who are not abiding by parks and rec guidelines for public recreational pickleball play.

BOUQUET To my employers, Jane and Trevor, who, after my 25-year-old car bit the dust and I was forced to resign, blew me away by buying me a brand-new 2016 Nissan Micra so I could continue working for them.

BOUQUET To Clay at Southgate Country Grocer. You truly went the extra mile to not only educate me on picking pineapple but also to replace the ‘bad’ ones I picked.

BOUQUET The First Departure Bay Beavers would like to thank the Nanaimo SPCA and Blaire Sigson with the education team for an excellent Bite Free presentation.

BOUQUET To all transit drivers in Nanaimo, who are subjected to abuse by some riders and those that think the bus is a free service. If you are that unhappy, take a cab or walk.

BOUQUET To the couple who organized the replacement of our Parkwood signs which now enhance our neighbourhood. Thank you for doing a great job.

BOUQUET To Sean for his kindness by helping me when I got stuck on Westwood Road. He helped several other drivers, too. I had to abandon my vehicle, however he took care of me and even drove me home.

BOUQUET Recently had an employee of Home Hardware make great customer service. I returned an article that was faulty and Wayne honoured the warranty, not just once, but twice.

BOUQUET To whoever cleared my driveway of snow along with the sidewalk of practically the whole Southwood Drive in Chase River.  A lovely surprise indeed.

BOUQUET To the gentleman who parked his car across the street on Townsite Road and helped my husband shovel the car out of the snow. It was greatly appreciated.

BOUQUET To all nursing, medical and HCAs on the first floor at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital for their excellent care and attention I received for my eight-day hospital stay.

BOUQUET To Bully’s Landscaping for freeing my vehicle from the ice. Your few minutes saved me a whole lot more.

BOUQUET To the St. Jean’s Cannery, Saltspring Soapworks, Denman Island Chocolate and Nanaimo Tourism for generous discounts/donations. We were able to create amazing farwell gift bags to the Grade 6 French Exchange program.

BOUQUET To the very kind and generous lady who left $20 with the cashier (after I declined to accept it) to put toward my grocery order when I told her to go ahead of me in line as my order was very large.

BOUQUET To the friendly neighbour with the snow blower on Scollos Place, who has been clearing driveways up and down the street.

BOUQUET To the Mid-Island tow truck driver, McKenzie, for helping with the rented tow truck that was stuck in the snow on Kelsie Road and for being understanding about the ‘grouchy neighbour’ who called to have it towed.

BOUQUET To the amazing Deb for helping my daughter through her first car accident. We are thankful no one was hurt and will be more than happy to get that fence fixed, and throw in some extra elbow grease for anything else you need.

BOUQUET To our wonderful neighbour Dan who cleared our street and driveways during this recent snowstorm.

BOUQUET To the two young men with the black truck who came to help get our car out of the driveway at Princess Street and Bing Kee.

BOUQUET To the lady and daughter at Country Grocer. I wish to apologize for my attitude and behaviour regarding my parking close to your Escalade. This is not who I am or how I want to be known.

BOUQUET To my mom for watching over her great-grandson (my grandson) Alex, while I was State-side. It meant a great deal to me to go for Leah’s birthday.

BOUQUET To Kathy’s Cat Care for the outstanding care you gave to Miss Cheeky while I was away. I never worry when my cats are left in your care.

BOUQUET To all involved in the ‘divorce sale’ at the Ladysmith Little Theatre in the face of such adversity.

BOUQUET To the young boy at Thrifty Foods who gave me a bunch of tulips from his own allowance as a random act of kindness.

BOUQUET To my mom for taking care of us. I love you, mom.
