In my opinion, a third of the bicycle riders in Vernon are great, it’s the rest that scare me.
Recently, while driving on a dark part of 27th Avenue, one approached me riding on the sidewalk, thankfully, not on the bike lane.
The person was dressed in black, with no reflectors or lights and on closer inspection, no helmet.
How many infractions were broken, I have no idea. But my point is, if bike riders wish to use bikes as transportation, they must at least use a modicum of common sense.
