Breast cancer battle changes perspective

Life is truly a precious gift, worthy of embracing.

Editor: After battling breast cancer for over a year, my perspectives on life have since changed.

Whether you choose to walk life’s path alone

Or walk with someone beside you

Remember your journey when shared

is simply beautiful

For life is a precious ‘gift,’ not to be taken for granted

especially when you’re blessed with second chances

So take the time to appreciate what life has given you

Go for long walks on the beach

Wade your feet along the shoreline

Draw a big heart in the sand

Embrace your inner child

Build a sandcastle

Go for a hike in the forest

Take time to smell the earthly fragrances

For these are nature’s gifts

Don’t let rainy day blues get you down

Don’t sweat the small stuff

Don’t judge others

We all have our own unique story

Try to embrace life to its fullest

Help others in need of help

perform random acts of kindness

for it truly humbles the soul

Smile

Place a smile on someone else’s face

Know your body

It is yours for the rest of your life

Accept love when offered

Cherish the support of family

The hand of friends

The hope from doctors, nurses and aides

You are not alone

There is no room for vanity

Together we can

Bear it

Battle it

Beat it

Here’s to second chances

Live every moment

Laugh every day

Love beyond words

For life truly is a precious gift

Worthy of embracing.
