Burning wood needs to be a thing of the past
To mayor and council:
We will attempt to keep this polite, although it is difficult when taking into consideration all the years we have been fighting for fresh air, all the meetings we have attended, letters we have written and still you are voting for burning.
The facts have been shown to you over and over. Our air quality is poor and we are suffering because of it. You were elected to take care of us and you are not doing that. For some reason some of you want to keep burning and now we are questioning what is your selfish motive.
My husband of 54 years has recently been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. It is terminal, there is no cure. He needs to be able to breath fresh air and there are days, many days he cannot leave our home because of the smoke.
I ask you this, if your loved one was given three to five years to live and you were told they needed to stay away from air pollution would you continue to burn? Obviously the answer would be no, because if it is yes then we are truly being governed by idiots.
Please consider others when making your decisions on our behalf. Burning wood needs to be a thing of the past. Get with it.
