Editor:
It was Sept. 20 and I was fortunate enough to be able to make a trip to the beautiful town of Burns Lake.
It was a bright sunny day and I wondered why there is so much hate in this world. But the town of Burns Lake is blessed with the best denturist ever, Mr. Gerald Eckland is a wonderful man. Not only does he know his job but he also always has a smile for everybody. He did a terrific job with my teeth. He made a perfect fit. The upper and lower dentures are like my own teeth again. Yes I looked around in the city of Prince George and visited denturists. They all gave me a quote. None of them came near the price I was quoted by Mr. Eckland.
On Sept. 14 there was an article in the Lakes District News “Challenge of paying for treatment.” The Lakes District News is a wonderful paper and it is a pleasure to read it. A heartfelt thank you to them for publishing my letter.
Mr. Eckland is also a man of his word. The sign that states “A 25 per cent discount will be given to old age pensioners over the age of 80 years of age if they are accompanied by their mother” was honoured by Mr. Eckland when I brought it the urn and ashes of my mother. The 25 per cent discount was given even without asking for it. It was a pleasant surprise to see that in this world full of hate and people that charge extra for the service to seniors instead of giving them a discount. It is with joy in my heart that I leave the wonderful town of Burns Lake.
Now there is joy in my heart and the bitter taste I had in my mouth on the last visit is gone.
Thanks to one man, Gerald Eckland.
I remain yours truly,
Ted Domhof
P.S. My dear friend Huckleberry Bill (Bill Wood) made a marvelous halibut dinner and we enjoyed his hospitality.
