Burns Lake residents should walk facing the traffic

Editor:

I have seen walkers who think they are vehicles or bicycles and are walking with their backs to the traffic.

Some of these humans are wearing ear buds so they are ‘into their music.’ These folks seem surprised and anxious that a vehicle is stopped or going slowly behind them.

I saw a woman pushing a baby stroller with her back to the traffic. After those people being run down in other countries by unseen vehicles, I would hope our neighbours are smart enough to realize they are not cars, trucks or bikes.

People should walk facing the traffic. It is easy to do and much safer for everyone.

Sincerely,

Karen Cyr
