By the Numbers

I find it annoying and insulting when people tell me stupid things assuming I'll believe them.

I find it annoying and insulting when people tell me stupid things assuming I’ll believe them. Religious and business leaders and politicians are notorious for this.

The public is stupid, tell them anything. They’ll fall for it.

Our Minister of Education, George Abbott, is saying that there is no money for schools and teachers because of the recession. Oh, really?

In May 2007, the government gave itself a pay increase, 29 per cent for MLAs and a whopping 50 per cent for the premier. There was lots of money then. In the winter of 2010, the privileged class attended a party at Whistler, the Winter Olympics. It came in over budget at around $900,000,000. There was lots of money then.

B.C. Place Stadium got a new rood at a cost of around $577,000,000. There was a lot of money for that.

So, it seems to me that lack of money is not the problem. It seems like this government’s priorities is the problem.
