To the editor:
Congratulations to the Canadian Tire store for having the courage to display, in huge letters, on the front of their store, the word that so many other businesses are reluctant to use—Christmas.
I’m sorry, but “Happy Holidays” and “Greetings of the Season” just don’t cut it. This happens to be Christmas, and the fear that we might offend some ethnic minorities by using that forbidden word just doesn’t make sense.
Come on Kelowna merchants, get with the program. This political correctness nonsense has gone too far.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Gary Barnhardt,
Kelowna
