Campaign signs are redundant

Federal campaign signs are springing up in the Cowichan Lake area (see Page 2), leading one to wonder, why?

Federal campaign signs are springing up in the Cowichan Lake area (see Page 2), leading one to wonder, why?

Aside from demanding we “Re-elect Jean Crowder,” or “Elect John Koury,” they don’t include any useful messages. Are these campaigners hoping that people will vote in accordance to what their neighbours are doing?

The main message they project is that the MP-hopefuls don’t care much for the environment. To be wasting that much plastic and wood on such redundant signs, one can’t be that big of an environmentalist.

It would seem a lot more worthwhile to simply hold debates and speeches in different communities, as well as keep local area media on their speed dials. What we’re looking for is an actual message, not demands that we re-elect you. What will you do?

Please don’t simply regurgitate what your political party leader has said. Give us something unique and pertinent to our area. Otherwise, you’re justifying many people’s belief that MPs are redundant taxpayer money-pits.
