I think everyone is sick and tired of all this juvenile finger pointing that has been going on within city council……I know I am. If the finance chair found something that he deemed as questionable, why not open the files and get it all cleared up in a prompt manner and get on with the business you were elected and get paid to do. We all know that mistakes can happen and there is usually a quick and easy way to correct them. I really don’t think that someone woke up one morning and decided to create a problem by making up a story (as Judge Judy puts it, “If something doesn’t make sense, it probably isn’t true.”) So let’s back the train up a few months and get questions answered so we can get on with important issues. We are headed into an election within a few weeks and how can we, the public, know who to vote for with all of this going on and on and on. An election can’t be won (in my books) by pointing a finger at someone else’s weaknesses but rather, I would like to see future members of council point out their own strengths. Using the Multi Centre as a platform for election won’t get my vote. Think about it, The Millionaires couldn’t even keep the current building full and they are now long gone so why do we need a $30 million dollar facility for the Kangaroos to use. We are a small community and should try to spend within our means. I agree, we do need some upgrades to the ice surfaces and we also need some sort of art/theatre facility but on a much smaller scale. A clean sweep is looking really good to me at this point.
