Change needed in education funding

Just read the letters to the editors of the April 7 Review about school closures. Seems everyone is blaming everyone except for the obvious.

Dear Editor:

Just read the letters to the editors of the April 7 Summerland Review about school closures.

Seems everyone is blaming everyone except for the obvious.

Administrative staff, teachers, rules and regulations have become so cost prohibitive that “for the kids” is just a hollow union slogan to separate us from our money just like the ol’ snake oil salesman.

The saying, “We don’t have a revenue problem we have a spending problem,” is turning into, “We don’t have a revenue problem we have a civil service problem.”

We need change in how we fund and administer the education system.

The existing results are speaking for themselves, unfortunately.
