City’s mayor supportive of War Amps

Julian Telfer-Wan has been a junior counsellor to younger amputees at CHAMP seminars. He helps spread the association’s play safe message.

To the Editor,

I would like to commend Nanaimo Mayor Bill McKay for recognizing Julian Telfer-Wan, a local member of The War Amps Child Amputee Program, at the March 21 city council meeting.

McKay presented Julian with a certificate for his long-time involvement with The War Amps and for helping to spread important messages in the community. Julian has been a junior counsellor to younger amputees at CHAMP seminars. He also helps spread the association’s play safe message, as he has met children who have lost limbs in accidents that could have been prevented. Julian also passes on the remembrance message to the younger generation through The War Amps Operation Legacy.

We are so pleased with Julian’s well-deserved recognition by the City of Nanaimo.
