Clark makes brilliant cabinet picks

Christy Clark is now premier, and we now know who got the cabinet posts.

Picking Liberal leadership contender Kevin Falcon as deputy premier and finance minister is absolutely brilliant on the part of Premier Clark.

We right-wingers can relax knowing that the purse strings will not fall into an Ignatieff-type tax-and-spend Liberal, and that the Social Credit, Conservative and Liberal coalition will hold.

Most of the rest of the cabinet fell into experienced hands while more women from the back bench are now in the front of the bus, and not under it.

Bad news for the NDP.

The biggest surprise was that Dr. Stilwell did not get a cabinet post.

She dropped out of the leadership race early, due to a lack of support.

Maybe premier Clark wants to keep it that way.
