Climate change wasn’t cause of wildfire in Fort McMurray

To the Editor,

Re: Columnist’s climate change denial problematic for readers, Letters, May 12.

As usual, if an enviro-zealot doesn’t agree with your opinion, then you must be an ignorant dinosaur, and any newspaper columnist who questions climate change scare-mongering has “become dangerous.”

The writer references Fort McMurray, falsely claiming it as “burning to the ground.” The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. There were no lightning strikes reported in the area prior to the fire, so the finger should point to a human cause, either carelessly or deliberately.

There are currently at least 10 wildfires in B.C.’s Peace region reported to be deliberately set. I seriously doubt any involvement by those nasty “dinosaur Conservatives,” who saved us a lot of money by ignoring the apocalyptic ranting of global warming fanatics.
