I am appalled that Paul Kandola “wonders whether the community can afford an expenditure such as a pool.”
With our government encouraging Canadians to be physically active as part of a healthy lifestyle, how can someone even consider closing a venue which provides relatively inexpensive exercise?
Swimming is a great cardio work out, as well as helps those with arthritis keep their joints limber and helps people with muscle injuries regain their strength. The whole idea is ludicrous.
It is not like we can swim in Williams Lake year round, as it tends to get iced up during the winter months.
I am sure there are many other ways the City can save money without removing a vital part of Williams Lake.
