To the Editor,
Re: Games lead to imminent vote, Opinion, March 26.
Speaking of political games, I’ve read that Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff is framing the federal election as a simple choice between a blue (Conservative) door and a red (Liberal) door. Did no one tell him about the other parties in the race?
There should also be an orange (NDP) door and a green door for the Greens. The Bloc, being separatists, may want a steel bar door and a coalition door would be noir/black.
If we could enter the Bloc door, we’d have to turn over all of our money and ditto the coalition door in order for them to keep Bloc support. We couldn’t drive a car to the green door, but could ride a horse if it was non-flatulent. Say … wasn’t there a song called “green door”, and wasn’t hospitality thin there?
The orange door could lead into an orange grove where money grows on trees. That’s the only way we could afford the socialism ‘demanded’ by Jack Layton. Jack thinks you make government work by ‘demanding’ they join the NDP.
And isn’t ‘red’ used to identify a Communist or Socialist, or would a red door just lead into a red-light district? Iggy has been trying to sell himself to voters since he returned to Canada.
And finally, there’s the blue door which surely must be reflecting the sunny blue sky behind it. Well, what else would you expect from a long-time Stephen Harper supporter?
