To the Editor,
Re: Colour coding of politics yet another political game, Letters, March 31.
Red door? Blue door? Is this all part of the Conservative ‘ethnic voting strategy’, to divide Canada up by colour?
In the film The Matrix, the protagonist Neo is offered a choice between two pills, a blue pill representing ‘the blissful ignorance of illusion’ or a red pill symbolizing ‘the sometimes painful truth of reality’.
So which of these two pills is going to run Parliament? The one cutting access to information or the one not cutting taxes for corporations?
I’ve no problem with Canada’s red and Quebec’s blue standing together to run our two nations as one.
Canada attacked Libya as part of a coalition and fights in Afghanistan as part of a coalition. I don’t support either of these military interventions, but I can support a co-operative effort by our political parties to meet our shared goals here in Canada.
Honestly, there’s already too much red-baiting going on, and I’m feelin’ blue about it.
