On Saturday, Oct. 29, the Summerland Aquatic Centre will be transformed for the Halloween Haunt.
This event, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., is run by aquatic staff and over 70 volunteers. Yes more than 70 volunteers!
A special thank you to these volunteers who make one of the largest community events in Summerland such a Spook-tacle!
Stations of fun games and challenges line the circumference of the pool.
Favourite games return: Pumpkin Toss, Feed the Spider, Slide of Doom and Graveyard Bowling. New challenging games have been created: Angry Birds, Mind Scramble, Balloon Burst and Poke-a-Pumpkin.
Children, parents, volunteers and staff are decked out in Halloween costumes — it’s a sight to be seen.
A Haunted House station is set up for those older children who enjoy being spooked!
My children ages three, seven and nine, all have a blast going from activity station to station.
When children complete the activities, they are awarded with tokens that they can redeem for their prize — an assortment of candy and treats.
The community comes together to put on this unforgettable evening for the youth of Summerland.
Thank you to sponsors: Nesters, McDonalds, A&W, Dairy Queen, Summerland Sweets, Murray’s Pizza, Nautilus Diving, All You Need Is One, BC Fruit Packers and Prima Pizza.
Any child under 10 who cannot swim a width of the pool must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket.
Tickets must be purchased in advance and are limited.
This event sells out.
