Victoria Literacy Connection is starting a computer literacy program and we are looking for volunteer tutors willing to teach basic computer and/or cell phone skills to adults online. Volunteers must have ready access to a computer and the internet, have patience and be willing to undergo a criminal record check. Training and online learning materials will be provided. The Cancer DriveLine Society is a non-profit registered charity which is 100 per cent volunteer run. We provide free transport for anyone in lower Vancouver Island Sidney to Sooke who needs a ride for any cancer-related medical appointment. We recently lost our Media & Marketing Board member and are eagerly seeking someone who is organized and enthusiastic and has some interest/experience in fundraising. This person would volunteer from home, write the occasional press release, develop a network of funding organizations and submit applications for funding. If you have an interest our Facebook page and Instagram hopping, you could do that to. Time requirement would be whatever you could manage from home to keep our fundraising going. RAVEN raises legal defense funds to assist Indigenous Nations that choose to enforce their rights to protect their traditional territories. Our governance board meets every two months. Lifetime Networks works to build and maintain a network of friendships to support people with disabilities. Currently we are looking for a volunteer Network Friend. A positive person who is interested in building a friendship with a social young man with a developmental disability who if fun to spend time with.
