It is unfortunate that organizations like the Community Arts Council of Williams Lake are running into volunteer issues.

However, in this case it would be best if there was one organization for arts/culture, rather than two, which is why I would strongly suggest the best thing that could happen is that the CACWL fold and its supporters and executive board members migrate into the newly formed Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society.

One thing I’d like to see the Central Cariboo Joint Committee task the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society, in the very near future, is to complete a comprehensive “Arts and Culture Strategic Plan” (this does not exist in my opinion), which would include what the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Sector would look like by 2020.

It could include a future move of the Station House Gallery and a proper Performing Arts Centre for the WL Studio Theater Society and its members and identify various funding options to fully deliver this “strategic plan” and appropriate public input.
