Dear editor,
The CVRD area directors would have had a slam dunk on the garbage/recycling referendum if they had offered the Royston rate of $115.80 with a predicted lower rate in future.
Recycling is big business for BMI and big money. Rural conservers and all conservers should be rewarded for recycling.
Unlike water rates, this garbage rate comparison is apples with apples, and CVRD rural residents expect equitable rates with CVRD neighbours.
Vote NO to the referendum and Bylaw 266 — the garbage tax.
We can get a better deal. Doing the right thing should be rewarded.
