I must comment on John Harding’s editorial (The NEWS, May 3).
We may be conservative here in Qualicum Beach and the official community plan may need some work.
But I’d rather us be conservative and cautious than being like Parksville and the Regtional District of Nanaimo — allowing the clear-cutting of huge swathes of forest and building houses galore when they can’t support the existing population with adequate water.
When it comes to development, better cautious than sorry, I’d say.
If Harding’s aim was to invite comment, I am sure he has succeeded.
