Dear editor,

On Dec. 19, 2011 our daughter, Anne Bock, was at work driving a police cruiser in Courtenay when an impaired driver crossed the centre line and hit her car head on.

Ambulance, firefighters and police responded instantly and did a phenomenal job to help Anne. Dr. Woods and the hospital staff also did everything in their power to enable her to start her road to recovery.

Although Anne was very lucky to  survive that crash, she has to live with significant injuries and pain on the long road to recovery. She is a very brave and courageous young woman and her positive outlook will help her.

This community has come together in an  unbelievable show of support. The well wishes, cards, flowers and gifts have helped a lot to distract her from pain and to keep her positive.

We would like to extend our gratitude in a special thank you for the unexpected fundraiser to help us to take care of Anne. The generosity of this community is overwhelming.

God bless you all.
