If Claire Eraut’s facts are correct in her letter in the Nov. 5 News, then it seems to me that the issue of sewage treatment should indeed go to a referendum of Oak Bay taxpayers.
It is a no-brainer that the low-pressure system must be the one chosen and not the alternate gravity system which is pegged at four times the cost. If the relatively small numbers of Uplands residents want the gravity system, then let them pay the approximate difference in the cost which may be as high as $30 million.
I emphatically don’t want any part of that “deal.”
