Council needs a reality check

Dear Sir:
I found it interesting that city council would throw around the notion of frivolous spending of taxpayers money when it came to the decision of contributing funds to the My Mountain Co-op initiative.

Dear Sir:

I found it interesting that city council would throw around the notion of frivolous spending of taxpayers money when it came to the decision of contributing funds to the My Mountain Co-op initiative.

They didn’t seem to hesitate to finalize decisions to demolish the derelict “thorn in the side” that is the old Co-Op building.  I am trying to recall the city’s decision to purchase this piece of real estate in the first place, why?

This was a waste of taxpayer funds and with no real benefit to the community.  I fail to see how any further investment in the concrete eye sore will benefit the community.

It certainly doesn’t have the same merit as a ski hill does and if not the ski hill, than many of the other needs this city has (improved walk ways, roads, etc).

I think council is failing to recognize how critical maintaining quality of life is to Terrace.  We aren’t exactly in an economic boom and quality of life is likely the sole purpose many people have chosen to stay.

I think this council needs a reality check, and I certainly look forward to the next election!
