Councilor declines to run again

It is with regret that I announce that I will not be running for the upcoming election for municipal council

Editor, The Times:

It is with regret to announce that I will not be running for the upcoming election for municipal council. My experience on council has been personally rewarding in many ways. The support that the community has given over the last two terms was always appreciated and never forgotten.

It was an honor to work with such a diverse council that took the time to see the community through some rough times, but to also celebrate with the community during the great times. It wasn’t an easy decision, but one that I feel is necessary at this time.

After dedicating nearly 10 years in this field (five years on the Wells Gray Country services committee and four years on council) I look forward to being on the other side of things, but certainly do not plan on staying too far away.

Thank you to our wonderful staff at the District office, and to the staff that were once part of the crew but have since moved on. Clearwater is my “home” and the best place to live, work and play! I encourage everyone and anyone to run for a position on council because each individual offers a different perspective and is an asset to our community. Thank you Clearwater and Wells Gray Country!
