Creston teens show no respect, littering on path

They thoughtlessly and nonchalantly left their garbage along the pathway, says letter writer Roger LaBerge...

To the Editor:

At noon on March 10, three teens were seen walking on the pathway behind Extra Foods towards the library, enjoying a beautiful record-setting day in Creston.

What was disconcerting was their total lack of respect for their environment as they thoughtlessly and nonchalantly left their garbage along the pathway. One with the red hoodie defiantly chucked an empty Red Bull can a few feet from me. Requesting him to pick it up, he just shrugged, ignored me and hurriedly set a distance between us.

Were they defiant, disrespectful teens resulting from poor or no parental upbringing? An educational system that is limited for truly educating? Or just a passive society that chooses to ignore these little peckerheads?
