I don’t know how old you are, recent letter writer Allan Clark (The NEWS, Jan. 6), but “just you wait, Mr. Higgins, just you wait.”
Clark makes it sound like they (we) are deliberately making a nuisance of ourselves.
Trust me, I still drive at 86, but I also know that in Qualicum Beach I have to be doubly watchful.
While my vehicle may be entitled to right of way, my brain calculates compassion for old joints, shuffling muscles, failing eyesight and undoubtedly medications that affect perception (I have knowledge of all the above).
The truth is, we older generation assume that the younger one knows this and make allowances for it.
As for the finger directed at you, when you reach that age you will be lucky to see that it works and what poor odds that is against a “death machine.”
You still have the advantage here.
