Culprits should own up to vandalism

I read with interest in last week’s Eagle Valley News the article on roadside memorials being vandalized on the highways and roadways in the Sicamous area.

I read with interest in last week’s Eagle Valley News the article on roadside memorials being vandalized on the highways and roadways in the Sicamous area.

John Moore with the Eagle Valley Rescue Society showed his frustration with the crosses being razed by a senseless act of vandalism, which is being done by a troubled being or a very bored group.

Your thoughtless act by you and your so-called friends, has desecrated a memorial to the dead, human beings who would rather be alive on earth, sharing life with their friends and families, but fate took them away.

Most of the crosses erected in the area are for people who died tragically away from home and their memories will live on. You tampered with this sacred right for families and friends to move on by a celebration of life.

I really hope that some day you will see what real harm that you did by your vandalism and make it right. Own up to your cowardly act.

I hope you never have to go through a tragic death of a close friend, and have your friend’s memorial destroyed by a thoughtless act of violence. Remember, what goes around comes around.

Thank you, John and your crew for your life saving skills, and keeping the victim’s memories alive for all of us.
