I read with disappointment the caption underneath the picture of the information rally. The issue is not about odour or traffic as stated in the caption. But it is about land use and the proposal of an industrial biogas plant on valuable ALR land. Not “on farm use” as the proponents seek. The land which is currently designated for farming or for a purpose complimentary to the CVRD Official Community Plan should not be turned into an industrial facility. Particularly since the location will be less than 400m from a seniors community. The proponents in their proposal go totally against the current and future plans of the OCP principle of community quality of life and natural environment. The proper location for this particular facility would be in an industrial not rural location.
